Gents Hairdressing/Barbering


C&G NVQ Level 2 Units of Accreditation Includes the different skills required for cutting and drying men’s hairstyles including facial hair (beards and moustaches). ATTENDANCE: One evening a week (5.30pm – 7.30pm) for 1 year. ENTRY: Learners must be currently practising and qualified to NVQ Level 2 in Ladies Hairdressing or equivalent and/or have appropriate and relevant work experience. Learners would normally apply through our Work Based Learning team.


Manicure/Pedicure VTCT (IHBC) Level 2 Certificate in Nail


Treatments Includes basic manicure and pedicure skills covering hand, foot and nail care and disorders and diseases of the nail and skin. ATTENDANCE: One evening (2 hours) per week for 15 weeks. ENTRY: Learners must have achieved a Level 2 standard of education and/or have appropriate and relevant work experience. All learners must have completed or be undertaking the Level 3 Diploma in Health, Safety, Security and Employment standards.


Nail Art VTCT (IHBC) Level 2 Certificate in Nail


Treatments Includes modern paint techniques, application of nail jewellery and maintenance and aftercare. ATTENDANCE: One evening (2 hours) per week for 8 weeks. ENTRY: Learners must have achieved a Level 2 standard of education and/or have appropriate and relevant work experience. All learners must have completed or be undertaking the Level 3 Diploma in Health, Safety, Security and Employment standards. All learners must have previously completed Manicure/Pedicure Level 2 Certificate.


Nail Technology VTCT (IHBC) Level 2 Certificate in Nail


Technology Includes nail assessment, manicure techniques, application of artificial tips and overlays, free form sculptures, preparation and aftercare. ATTENDANCE: One evening (2.5 hours) per week for 17 weeks. ENTRY: Learners must have achieved a Level 2 standard of education and/or have appropriate and relevant work experience. All learners must have completed or be undertaking the Level 3 Diploma in Health, Safety, Security and Employment standards. All learners must have previously completed Manicure/Pedicure Level 2 Certificate.


Teaching Baby Massage


VTCT (IIHHT) Level 3 Teaching Certificate Includes anatomy and physiology of the skin, child development, skeletal and muscular systems, massage techniques, aftercare and teaching techniques. ATTENDANCE: One day a month for 8 months (TBA). ENTRY: This qualification is aimed at healthcare or complementary therapy workers who would like to teach parents and carers baby massage techniques. Learners must hold a Level 2 qualification in childcare, healthcare or complementary therapy. All learners must have completed or be undertaking the Level 3 Diploma in Health, Safety, Security and Employment standards.


Swedish Body Massage


VTCT (IIHHT) Level 3 Certificate Includes practical body massage techniques together with the anatomy and physiology plus the theory necessary to understand the effects of treatment. ATTENDANCE: One evening a week (2 hours) for 30 weeks. ENTRY: Learners must have achieved a Level 2 standard of education and/or have appropriate and relevant work experience. All learners must have completed or be undertaking the Level 3 Diploma in Health, Safety, Security and Employment standards.
