Carpentry and Joinery
Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery Level 2 A higher level course to further your skills on site or at the bench, preparing you for employment or advanced learning. ATTENDANCE: Approximately 1 year depending on previous experience. ENTRY: Level 1 qualification and good tutor reference.
Plumbing
Initial Craft Training Level 1 A practical hands-on course introducing plumbing skills. ATTENDANCE: 1 year. ENTRY: 3 GCSEs at grade D, to include Maths and Science. Successful interview, good school reference and evidence of commitment in Year 11. Successful completion of an aptitude test.
Plumbing
Craft Training Level 2 A higher level course to further your plumbing skills, preparing you for employment or advanced learning. ATTENDANCE: 1 year. ENTRY: 3 GCSEs at grade D plus Level 1 qualification and good tutor reference.
Construction and the Built Environment Diploma
Level 2 This Diploma provides a programme of applied and practical learning which introduces learners to the fabric of the world in which we live and its impact on individuals and communities. ATTENDANCE: 1 year ENTRY: Level 2 Trade qualification or 1 GCSE grade C in Maths or English. You will have to attend an assessment day and provide us with a reference.
Brickwork
Diploma in Trowel Trades Level 2 A qualification for those who wish to gain construction skills and knowledge before commencing employment or training in the industry, or for those working in a related field who wish to become multiskilled. This course does offer CSCS accreditation as a trainee worker. ATTENDANCE: 2 evenings per week over a 2 year period. ENTRY: Entry by interview. The evening course requires significant commitment outside the class times, therefore it is aimed at the mature learner. Entry to the evening course is through achievement of a pre-vocational course.
Brickwork
Diploma in Trowel Trades Level 3 Advanced craft training for people who have completed Level 2 Brickwork. Trainees cover more advanced practical skills and develop supervisory skills. As part of the course, students will achieve the Advanced Construction Award and be able to apply for CSCS accreditation. ATTENDANCE: Thursday, day release for 1 year. ENTRY: Level 2 NVQ and Intermediate Construction Award, plus successful interview.
Plumbing
Pre-Vocational This course does not result in a qualification, but enables you to gain the initial skills and knowledge in Plumbing to enrol on a Level 2 course. ATTENDANCE: Thursday, 6.00 – 9.15 pm, 7 weeks. ENTRY: No formal entry requirements.
Technical Certificate in Plumbing
You may be able to study for an NVQ Level 2 in the evening for any of the following trades. Contact us for more details.
Brickwork Pre-Vocational This course does not result in a qualification, but enables you to gain the initial skills and knowledge in Brickwork to enrol on a Level 2 course. ATTENDANCE: Thursday, 6.00 – 9.15pm, 7 weeks. ENTRY: No formal entry requirements.
Level 2 A qualification for people who wish to gain further plumbing skills and background knowledge before starting employment or training in the industry. This course does not offer CSCS accreditation. ATTENDANCE: 2 evenings per week over a 2 year period. ENTRY: People in a related industry who wish to retrain may be suitable for this course. Entry to day release is by interview and BPEC entry test. Entry to the evening course is through completion of the Pre-Vocational course.
