Computers have revolutionised the way we work and spend our leisure time. I.T. solutions are now at the heart of every major organisation, and most small businesses too! From supermarkets to hospitals and the armed forces, computers are everywhere, and there will always be a demand for skilled people to program and maintain them.

As businesses seek new ways to exploit technology, the computer industry is an exciting and rewarding one in which to work. All the programmes at Boston College are very practical; you will be involved in project work producing realistic programs and computer applications. Assessment includes practical group work where business skills are developed alongside technical skills. There is a high demand for people qualified in IT/Computing and the College especially welcomes female applicants in an area where they are still under-represented.

After finishing school, Shaun had sketched out a plan to do the Diploma in Computing and then onto the BSC in Computer Programming. “I have managed to stick at my plans and do more through the College, as I have also completed the 7307 teaching course and now move on to study the Cisco”.
