Hospitality (Diploma in Introduction to Professional Cookery 7100-01)
VRQ Level 1 A practical foundation in preparing and cooking food professionally. ATTENDANCE: 5 days per week until completion, typically 1 year. ENTRY: Enthusiasm for catering, good reference and minimum 4 GCSEs, including English, Maths and ICT.
“I have been told at work that I have taken the pub to a new level, which is all down to the many different skills I have learnt at College. I love working with and learning from the lecturers, and also supporting other students in levels below me. I have enjoyed everything about the courses but my favourite things are making chocolates and wedding cakes.”
Jonathan has recently applied for a job and attended work experience at the Ivy in London and is hoping to start there by Christmas.
“After I have gained some experience in London, my aim is to get a job in a top restaurant in America or maybe head over to Belgium and become a chocolatier.”
