Art and Design
BTEC National Diploma Level 3 Art and Design study enables you to develop your ideas and skills including aspects of painting, drawing, photography, sculpture and graphic design and print making. The experience you gain could lead to university work or further training in a wide range of disciplines, such as illustration, fine art, fashion design or interior design. ATTENDANCE: 2 years. ENTRY: 5 GCSEs at grade C or above or First Diploma Art & Design at merit level or above, plus portfolio of work.
Post 18 Foundation Art and Design
BTEC Diploma This is an ideal preparatory course for anyone considering studying Art and Design at degree level as it enables students to explore their talents and favoured areas through portfolio development. It includes access to all the Art and Design facilities. ATTENDANCE: 1 year. ENTRY: Normally 1 A-Level and 3 GCSEs at grade C or above plus portfolio of work, however mature students without the usual qualifications are encouraged to apply.
Media
BTEC First Diploma Level 2 Aims to instil a broad range of skills for working in the Media industries, such as video, photography, multimedia and publishing. Includes work-related projects with continuous assessment. ATTENDANCE: 1 year. ENTRY: Evidence of interest and enthusiasm for the subject, successful interview, minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade D – G.
BTEC National Diploma in Media
Production This course equips the student with a broad range of Media skills and knowledge, with an emphasis on practical skills including video production, web authoring and print based media. ATTENDANCE: 2 years. ENTRY: 5 GCSEs at grade C or above and/or BTEC First Diploma in Media (Distinction level), plus an interest in studying media.
NCFE Certificate in Creative Craft using Mixed Crafts (animation)
Level 2 This qualification aims to develop the knowledge and skills for candidates to be able to produce a short animation sequence. ATTENDANCE: Thursdays 1.55pm-4.20pm for 27 weeks ENTRY: No formal qualifications are required, but a basic knowledge of computers would be an advantage.
NCFE Certificate in Creative Craft using Photography
Level 1 and 2 This qualification is suitable for a wide variety of candidates who have an interest in developing their photography skills. ATTENDANCE: Level 1 Thursdays 9.00am - 11.25am, Level 2 Thursdays 1.55pm - 4.20pm (both last for 27 weeks) ENTRY: No formal entry qualifications are required, but an interest in developing photography skills would be an advantage.
NCFE Certificate in Creative Crafts using Life Drawing
Level 2 This qualification is suitable for a wide variety of candidates who have an interest in developing their life drawing skills. ATTENDANCE: Fridays 9.00am-11.25am for 27 weeks ENTRY: No formal entry qualifications are required, but an interest in developing your life drawing skills would be an advantage.
Video Production This qualification is suitable for a wide variety of candidates who have an interest in developing their video production skills. ATTENDANCE: Thursdays 1.55pm – 4.20pm ENTRY: No formal entry qualifications are required, but an interest in developing video production skills would be an advantage.
All NCFE course are offered to full time students as complimentary studies. Places maybe available to part-time students depending on numbers.
