Mandatory Training – Information Governance

As a part of your mandatory training there are two new e-learning courses which must
be completed by all corporate staff before 31st December 2009:

Data Protection Act 1998. The course is accessed via the NHS Professionals
Managed Learning Environment (MLE):

Protecting Information - Level 1. The course is hosted by the National School of

The course and assessment should take around 1 hour 20 minutes to complete

For line managers only there is a third new e-learning course which must be completed
by 31st January 2010:

Protecting Information - Level 2. This course must be completed after Protecting
information Level 1.
The course and assessment will take around 1 hour to complete.
Login for this course will is the same as Protecting Information Level 1.

All NHS Professionals corporate staff includes:
• all bank staff working in the call centre or 1st floor of Meridien House
• consultants
• contractors
• external support staff (e.g. SBS) who use the NHS Professionals IT network
providing they are working for a period of three weeks or more
• anyone who has an email address
