Dear Dumpster Diver -
You’re defi nitely in a tough place here. Your
feelings aside, do you create more pain for
him in an already painful period in his life,
or do you wait until he’s seemingly recovered
to pull the trigger? Either way it’s going to

hurt. I’m assuming this is someone who you
have been with for a while and on some level,
still care about; otherwise I don’t believe
you’d think twice before showing your man
the door. Look deep in your heart and I think
you’ll know how to proceed.
Dear Fanny,
How do you know when you’re with
“the one?” I’ve been dating this guy for the past six months and
everything has been going splendidly. We have never had an
argument and have tons in common. Have I fi nally found Mr.
Right?
Dear Misguided -
No. You have not found Mr. Right, what you have found is a new love
interest. Honey, you’re in the “rainbows and butterfl ies” stage of your

relationship. You’re overlooking all of his fl aws and he’s doing the same
for you. A lasting relationship is not measured on how little you fi ght,
but rather when you do have an argument, how do each of you respond
to one another. “The one” will be someone that can tolerate you and visa
versa. When a guy pees on the toilet seat or does something equally as
pesky and you roll your eyes and say to yourself “that’s my baby” while
happily cleaning the seat . . . without fuss . . . for years. You’ve found a
guy that’s tolerable; you’ll have found your Mr. Right.
P.S. – Mr. Perfect does not exist.
