Hmmm…what’s on the menu? Why don’t we start off with an intoxicating batch of Britney Spears with the kick of a couple new songs added for extra flavor. That
would be The Singles Collection set for release on November 24. Now remember though. Too much Britney can be “Toxic.” If you are more of a fine wine lover, Andrea
Bocelli is toasting to the holidays with his new CD called My Christmas. His impressive voice and love for the songs of the season shine through on November 3.
Perhaps you are not in the mood for a refreshment and you’ve already had three Diet Pepsis and you’re in the zone…Morrissey feels for you and your angst. His latest
CD is called Swords comes out on November 3 and is his first presentation of all his B-sides going back to 2004. Ready to order? Let’s look at a few more appetizing new
CDs now. Have you tried the American Idol special? It’s one order of a very handsome winner known as Kris Allen. His self-titled release is due on November 17. The
first impressions of his new single called “Live Like We’re Dying” are getting all the love from his fans. Want something just a bit spicier and full of passion? May we select
runner-up with the amazing vocal talents of Adam Lambert. His debut is titled For Your Entertainment and is out to the masses and gay masses on November 24. Or
perhaps you are craving something that combines both the bitter and the sweet together in one creation. Why not try the new Norah Jones CD called The Fall. Jones is
experimenting with new sounds and a whole new batch of musicians and collaborators on this and it’s available on November 17. Also returning with a new creation
is the phenomenal talent of singer Leona Lewis. She has put together a new collection called Echo. The first single is “Happy” and she is generating buzz anew for the
upcoming CD and her hot glam look on the cover when it’s released on November 17. Did you just order another glass of wine? Hmmm. I guess you’re in the mood for
the Susan Boyle entrée called I Dreamed a Dream. The Internet singing sensation is ready to raise her spirited voice with her debut on November 23. Everything looks
better after a few glasses of wine. You know what I mean? Speaking of dreams…if you enjoy a sweet set of nostalgia and the songwriting talents of Johnny Mercer
who penned such classics as “Blues in the Night,” “The Days of Wine and Roses” and “Skylark,” catch the documentary produced by Clint Eastwood premiering on TCM on
November 4, the 100th anniversary of his birth. All month long, every Wednesday night, TCM will present the numerous musicals or films utilizing his music. November
18, the anniversary of Mercer’s passing, TCM will present a whole day of classics in his honor. Finally, may I recommend—and it’s ready to order now—a wild set of punk
and rock with the new set of songs titled Lungs by Florence + The Machine. Their music will remind you of the wild heyday of punk and new wave music of the vintage
1980s. I don’t know about you…but that’s quite a menu. Find something that suits your taste in music this month. Remember though, don’t burn it…buy it.
