ACT OUT MYSTERY THEATRE
DINNER . . . COMEDY . . . MURDER . . . MYSTERY!
The Act Out Mystery Theatre Company based in Long Beach specializes in gay-
oriented interactive live theatre, comedy improvisation, audience participa-
tion and murder mysteries. In this case, they combine all of the aforementioned
and present, All Aboard for Murder. Get your sea legs on, cuz you’re gonna need
‘em as you join host, gay billionaire, Woody Woodstone! He is hosting a maiden
voyage on his new mega yacht, “The Queen Fairie” and let’s just say the yacht
wasn’t the only queen fairy in the mix. It doesn’t take long before Woodstone
is murdered and the suspects flood in. In fact, there were so many suspects on
board, I am surprised the yacht didn’t sink.
Adventurous guests have the option to accept a role and participate in the
performance; which was a cute aspect, and funny in some cases. The energetic
cast, consisting of Stephen Beitler, Bruce Hart, Laura Starr Rigores and Paul
Vander Roest managed to keep things moving. The Reef Restaurant - On the
Water provides a delicious traditional dinner (we had prime rib, but the salmon
looked great too) and is integrated in-between acts in one of their many scenic Moonlight and Magnolias
banquet rooms. Over dessert, everyone votes for who they think dun nit. Once Making golden-age movie history isn’t easy! Producer David O. Selznick is

The Rocky Horror Show
This low-budget freak show/cult classic musical concerns the misadventures of Brad Majors and Janet Weiss. Shortly
after the wholesome pair professes their love for one another, the car breaks down in the woods near a menacingly
towering castle. Greeting them at the door is a ghoulish butler who introduces them to a bizarre collection of partygo-
ers clad in freaky interplanetary thrift shop garb. The host is a transvestite draped in lingerie, Dr. Frank N. Furter, a horny,
mad scientist claiming to be from another planet. Amidst the craziness, Furter brings to life a young, blonde beefcake
wearing nothing but skimpy shorts, who immediately launches into song. Just when Brad and Janet think things
couldn’t get any stranger, they may be next on Furter’s hit list—whether for murder or carnal delights is uncertain.
