Making an exhibition
Specially designed digitally printed high pressure
laminates from ABET LAMINATI are being used
for the innovative new ‘Curiosity’ interactive exhi-
bition at Bristol’s City Museum and Art Gallery.
‘Curiosity’, a mini-museum for the Under-7s, is a
fascinating interactive play space based around
many different activities. Features such as the
‘crystal cave’, where stories can be told, the stage
surround, where children can put on puppet shows,
and the ‘animuddle’ game are all created using
Abet’s Digital Print technology. The exhibition was
designed by Simon Fenn and Polly Lewis with in-
house graphic designer Becky Sheppard. Digital
Printing is a medium, which offers architects and
designers unparalleled freedom to realise unique
and unusual concepts, by using the technology in
conjunction with Abet’s wide range of high-pres-
sure laminates. This method of reproducing photo-
graphic images directly into laminate has
revolutionised the way in which laminates are used
in interior design and introduced a completely new
medium for expressing ideas and images.
