has one leg in Windsor Place and the
other firmly in Shoreditch. It hosts
good bands, it has a beer garden and ‘a slovenly,
it’s also one of the best places to go
for a post-club nightcap because it’s

Thursdays has seized the crown as
Cardiff’s most popular alternative
student night, playing electro, house
and good dance music all night. It’s
still great for indie too: try The Dudes
Abide on Friday.

A slovenly, grimy little hole of a club,
this rock venue is enduringly popular
with students (and particularly first
years) for its dirt-cheap drinks and
habitually messy atmosphere. Cheap-
skates every Wednesday remains the
biggie: doubles for £1.37 and lots of
filthy rock music. Just don’t look at
the carpet.
