WINTER
WONDERLAND
As the countdown to Christmas approaches, Cardiff’s
Winter Wonderland returns to Cardiff Civic Centre for its
ninth year, bringing with it 52 days of non-stop Christmas
celebration. From Thurs 12 Nov to Sun 3 Jan, the Civic
Centre will be host to a glittering open-air ice-rink
surrounded by a luminous fairground. You can ride the
big wheel and spiral down the helter-skelter, or take a spin
on the ice under the stars. The Winter Wonderland starts
with the Christmas Lights Switch On which will be held
on the opening night, Thurs 12 Nov. As well as this, on
New Year’s Eve, Cardiff’s celebrations get underway with
a free live music stage, the free Admiral Family Fire Show,
and free New Year’s Eve buses. For extra information
about Winter Wonderland have a look at

GET YOUR ‘TACHE OUT
FOR THE LADS
What’s the fi rst image that springs to mind when you think about men’s health
issues? I bet it’s not a moustache. This month, the Prostate Cancer Charity is
asking all of you “MoBros” to ditch the shaver and dedicate this month to growing a
moustache in order to raise essential funds and promote awareness for men’s health.
You can be sponsored, start a mo-growing team, hold an offi cial “Gala Parté” (a
moustache celebration party) or enrol as an offi cial MoBro on the Movember website
and be entered for the highly coveted International Man of Movember award. For all
those of you who are unable to grow a moustache in merely a month, you can register
as a MoSista to support a MoBro, or purchase some of the Movember merchandise
which includes posters, moustache cuff links, and limited edition t-shirts, boxers
and socks designed for popular menswear retailer, Burton. All of the Movember
merchandise, as well as information about Movember and the online registering
application can be found at www.movember.com. Get growing!
