UMCOR Depot – Baldwin, La: Kits and relieff ititems, doonatedd bby y chchuru ches and
individuals, are shipped wherever they are requestedd tto o all kikindndss off d disaster spots
in the US or worldwide. Health, Sewing, School and Layette kkiitst are ssent too the
Depot along with baby sweater/jackets and empty school bagss..
PET: Personal Energy Transportation (PET) is a sturdy, handd-ccranked wheel-
chair. It has a heavy metal frame and wooden bed; uses wheellbbaarrow wheels; is
shipped partially disassembled and with a tool kit for repairs andnd spare parts;
comes in two sizes-adult and junior. The cost of a PET is $22550.0.
District Food Pantry Agencies: In 2009, each of the 8 districictsts has $2,000 to
distribute to hunger related agencies within the district.
Summing up the mission of the Thanksgiving Ingatherinng g ththe Coordinators
and Chairpersons invite Iowa United Methodists to remmeemmber that the Lord
requires us “To act justly and to love mercy and to walkk h huumbly with your
God” (Micah 6:8). “When we share from our abundaancncee we are acting justly and
reflecting our desire to serve God.”
