SARA WILLIAMS, PONTYBEREM
When did you become interested in modelling?
I’d always wanted to be a model but I knew it was a really
competitive industry, so never pursued it until I saw an
advertisement for the Make You Blush charity fashion show last
year. The show was in Oceana and all the proceeds went to Cancer
Research UK. It was a great opportunity to get my fi rst taste of the
catwalk and raise money for charity.
Why does the industry appeal to you?
Lot of people have a preconception about models but it’s a great
way to develop self-confi dence and being involved with charity
fashion shows is also very character-building.
“IT’S A GREAT WAY TO SOCIALISE.”
What have you done so far?
I’ve done lots of local catwalk shows and have modelled for
Rowberry’s and at bridal fayres. I also competed in this year’s
Miss Wales, which was amazing. I raised £3,000 for The Joshua
Foundation and made a lot of friends. A few girls are there to win
and don’t mix much with the other contestants but the majority are
just there for the experience so it’s a great way to socialise with
other aspiring models. I am now with agency modelclick.

I think every little girl dreams of being
a model, but I was 15 when I started
to take it seriously after working with
