Centenary Celebration Farm Visits
Grosvenor Farms
The first trip of Monday morning saw bus loads of visitors descend on Grange Farm, Aldford,
part of the Grosvenor Estate. This is home to the Grosvenor youngstock who are batch reared and
inseminated before moving on. Visitors then used this as a base where all the sponsors had set up
stall whilst coaches ferried people to the Gold Cup winning Hatton Heath herd and the Cogent
bull stud. Lunch was provided for everyone with visitors from the alternative trip joining up in
time
Townhouse Holsteins
Celebrations continued at Park Hall Farm, home to the Roberts family’s Townhouse herd.
These cows impressed everyone with their scale, power, great udders, feet and legs uniform
throughout the 390 head. A judging
competition of six of the best was held and
many members struggled to make up their minds.
In the end only one man was right, Master Judge
Andrew Jones.
A big thank you to Grosvenor Farms
and Townhouse Holsteins
for all their hard work in
organising the visits and for
their generous hospitality.
