Sinai’s very own radio station online is now brought to you by true Sinai lovers…
Jimmy Monk is the founder and instigator of Radio Sharm Live, realizing that there was no radio in Sinai for the residents in the area; he came up with this amazing idea.
Having only been around for about three months now, www.radiosharm
live.com is a widely used service with 60 – 80 listeners per hour. Radio Sharm Live broadcasts
some of the latest tunes and a mix of all your favourites.
Based in Dahab, Radio Sharm Live is a free online radio with a large selection of shows and programs where all shows are in English, and includes over 10 DJ’s with
specialized programs from jazz to the blues. However, the most popular is probably the breakfast show from 7am – 1pm to catch a mixture of people from the early
birds and divers to the regular Sharmers. They also have guest DJ’s that are usually on at night past 12am and usually play House and Dance music. Another bonus is
that you receive access to the DJ chat to request something from the DJ directly!
As well as music, Radio Sharm Live provides us with over 100 free games, contests during the morning shows, competitions, different programs every day and several
RRS feeds including Sinai Weekly. So, there certainly is no chance of you getting bored …
But life is not only about playing and games, so find out what is going on in the world by checking out the news sections; Egypt news, Red Sea news and Sinai news,
where the main contributor is Sinai weekly.
“We soon hope to start our own live editorial shows with the Sinai Weekly staff in the near future.” – Declared Patrick, the Indie host on Thursdays and Fridays.
From their extremely large variety of shows are:
• The Chill Out Zone
• Monks Morning Show
• Groovy Tuesday with sweetie Magnoon
• The Friday Feel Good Factor
• Perk Daddy the Radio Sharm Classic rock Selector
• Hip Hop with DJ Double Dousha
• Getting Funky with the Mad Monk
And so much more, such as: the Locals Chat that is between 6pm to 8pm daily with a slot for any local dive instructors, tech dive instructors, wind and kite surf instruc-
tors, yoga teachers, free diving instructors and any other locals to chat about their sports or activities. This is a great way for them to get the word out and promote
their businesses in Sinai.
Then there is: the Events News, where Sharmers and Dahabians can send their events news (special club nights, promotions, other news) by email to add to the news
and information sections.
Another favourite is: the Mixed Bag that is a collection of THE LATEST IN ELECTRO ROCK INDIE with Mad Monk and guests.
