John McDonnell, of Northgate, (left in
photograph) has been playing golf for 12
years. He said: “I try to get up here about
twice a week. I love the peace, quiet and
freedom that a round of golf gives you.
There’s also great camaraderie and it’s
good exercise too.”
Pauline Dempsey, of Northgate, has been
playing for 20 years. She said: “I love the
fantastic views and the course. It’s one of
the best around and it’s challenging too.
It’s so nice to get out, particularly in good
weather, and get away from the normal
day to day things. The social side of golf
here is good too.”
Tony Clifford, 16, of Three Bridges, has been
playing for three years. He said: “I’ve got
into golf in a big way. I’ve been playing
almost every day during the holidays,
either on the course or hitting a few
buckets of balls on the driving range.”
