INFECTS WORLD
A Gwent-produced information video designed to
warn young people against the dangers of texting
and driving has achieved unpredicted success
as a viral video on YouTube. Zipline Productions
have produced a frighteningly realistic portrayal of
a car crash caused by negligence and distraction,
which has proved a surprise hit. The fi lm shows
graphic scenes of the impact of a head-on crash
and its consequences, and features a bucket-
load of special effects and talented actors who
convincingly replicate the sequence of events and
outcome of a high-speed collision. It’s hard to say
whether the video’s success is a sign of society
taking mobile-related dangers more seriously, or
just an indicator of the general public’s voyeurism
– but one thing’s for sure, this video has had people
talking, so hopefully now it will get them thinking.

For those of you who’ve never been to an interactive showing of cult classic The Rocky
Horror Picture Show, you don’t know what you’re missing. Although the fi lm has been
labelled ‘bizarre’ and ‘depraved’, its devotees dress up, sing, and throw rice with admirable
dedication, and their numbers have only increased since its release in 1975. Sadly, there
are few occasions when it’s acceptable for men to wear corsets and suspenders in public,
but you can expect all that and more from The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
On Mon 12 Oct, the Swansea Grand Theatre is hosting their own showing of the infamous
musical, so you Rocky Horror virgins can do the Time Warp with seasoned creatures of the
night. Fancy dress is not required, but it’s wonderful fun, so grab your fi shnets and pearls
and prepare to be beamed to transsexual Transylvania this month at the Grand.
