Addison Loo/ Wyndhams/London Taxis.
A company in the city called Deloitte predominantly use the services of Addison Loo and a company called Wyndhams. Wyndhams are mostly luxury
cars and Addison Loo are the black vans with the drivers fast asleep at the wheel plotted up behind the address in Shoe Lane and Printer Square
waiting illegally plying for hire. For a 16.4 mile journey from Wyndhams the cost would be… wait for it. £120.00. Thatʼs a journey roughly to terminal
fi ve. In a taxi from the street it would cost no more than £70. Imagine if we had luxury vehicles without the turning circle, the jobs that could come
fl ooding back to the taxi trade would be unprecedented. One of Deloitteʼs partners ordered a Mercedes car from Wyndhams but it hadnʼt turned up at
the specifi ed time. The client went out to look for the car but could only see the usual snoozing Addison Loo drivers except one who asked him if he
wanted a taxi. The client told him he was waiting for a car and returned to the company and asked them to get him one ASAP. They called Addison Loo
who said they had no cars in the area and if he wanted one quickly they would divert one to his pick up point, but he would be charged. He didnʼt care
he just wanted to get to his meeting. He went back outside to the illegal rank and the man heʼd already spoke to a minute before was standing holding
up a board with the clients name on. “Werenʼt you the guy I just spoke to?” He told him he was. “Then why am I being charged a divert charge if you
were sitting here all the time?” The driver declined to get into the conversation and the client was taken by sat nav once the driver had programmed it to
Mansion House in the City! The company was charged £12 for a divert charge by Addison Loo but the driver was sitting outside the door. How do they
get away with it? Why are all the radio circuits unable to cut their costs the same way we have in the cab? For example:
Journey. Addison Loo fi xed fare. Wyndhams. Pre booked taxi. Hailed taxi. Metered fare.
EC4- W1 £9.50 £14.75 £ 21.72 £4.40-£10
EC4- Heathrow £49.75 £45.00 £76.34 £40- £70
EC4-SW9 £16.50 £16.90 £24.99 £11-£18
These are all pricings from the accounts of Deloitte and one wonders why the radio circuits are not acting in the interests of its drivers and taking action
accordingly. Maybe an entrepreneurial driver might like to visit some of these accounts and re-claim the work back for the trade. Iʼm sorry to say that our
sales teams in the cab trade appear to be not as productive as those at Addison Loo.
Anyhow thatʼs it for another month. Those of you working your nuts off to pay for the cab and still paying extortionate entry fees to the feeder park
should look at your representation. Are they working in your best interests, or theirs? I think you have the gist by now and feel they owe you an apology
and should be thoroughly ashamed at the attack of an innocent person not even connected to the trade namely John Paceʼs son.
Cockney Reject. (Did I think of that!!!)
