Dear Jayne…
I’ve recently accepted a job in Cardiff but my
boyfriend is going to remain living in Swansea. I’m
worried that absence won’t make the heart fonder:
any tips for keeping the relationship exciting?

I understand you may be worried about your boyfriend moving away,
but Swansea to Cardiff isn’t far and some space can do a relationship
the world of good. We often take our partners for granted when they
are around all the time so having a little distance often means the
time you DO spend together is that much more special. We now have
access to such excellent communication tools (Facebook for quick
chat, text/mobile/Skype) so you needn’t feel far from each other.
Distance relationships can work really well but you both need to allow
for a little time to settle into the new routine, as it will be tricky at fi rst.
Ensure you both schedule in suffi cient time to spend together during
the weekends or even meet halfway mid week — cinema and a bite
now, so worry not. The only thing I would suggest is perhaps
to eat (plus some sneaky shopping) at Bridgend Designer Outlet could
having a casual chat before you go about things that do
