Drawing Room
The walls are divided into panels and the open fireplace is of white and

veined marble with fluted Ionic columns. There is a connecting door to
the dining room.
The dining room faces east with views over the formal gardens and park
beyond. The frieze in this room is decorated with cherubs and urns which are
repeated in the overdoor and white marble fireplace.
The drawing room occupies three bays of the east front of the house. The
French windows, with delicate fanlight above, display views across the
gardens and park, and are on an axis with the front door and entrance and
staircase hall doors, facilitating the vista on entering the house. Through the
French windows a stone staircase with vase shaped iron balusters leads to the
gardens below. The wallpaper in the drawing room is over 100 years old but
remarkably unworn. There is a second door to outside in the corner of the
room which opens into the loggia.
