The Tiger Lily (Lilium tigrinum) is one of thousands of plants
in Chester Zoo’s 110 acres of stunning gardens. Here are a few
things you perhaps didn’t know about the Zoo: our award-
winning gardens are over 50 years old. Over 33,000 bedding
plants are planted twice a year. We care for nearly 200 endangered
species of plants. We hold National Collections of Cacti and
Orchid. And what’s more, we are one of Cheshire’s ‘Gardens of
Distinction’. In 2009, over 1 million people will visit this amazing
landscape of rare, exotic and vibrant plants and may even come
across the occasional tiger, elephant, lion or even bear…
