garden-lovers to Cheshire’s
Gardens of Distinction and
we’d like to thank you, the garden-going public, for
this unprecedented success!
As ‘Home of England’s Finest Gardens‘ Cheshire
has more gardens open to the public per head of
population than anywhere else in Britain, including
several gardens of international importance. Cheshire
is also nurturing a renaissance of gardeners ready to
try out new garden designs, plantings and events. The
RHS Show Tatton Park, held every summer and known
as the ‘Chelsea of the North’, is just one example of an
inspirational range of designs from the surprising and
cutting edge to the stylish and traditional.
Cheshire’s Gardens of Distinction’s dazzling future owes Once again, you can find all the latest news and views
much to its industrial past. Large areas of the county in this magazine, including exciting new garden trails,
were once owned by wealthy families who created an exclusive insight into our top gardens, details of
lavish landscapes around their homes. Several are now unmissable events, as well as award-winning garden
in the care of the National Trust, while others are still designer and TV presenter Chris Beardshaw and radio
