pwards of fifty Children in Care together
with their carers will experience the magic
of Disneyland Paris in October thanks to
the Liverpool Taxi Driversʼ Children in Care
Outing Committee who have worked long
and hard over the past twelve months raising
funds to make this trip of a lifetime happen.
This extraordinary outing is in addition to the
usual annual trip to Gulliverʼs World and the
pantomime at the Empire Theatre in Liverpool.
Around twenty Liverpool cabs will be taking
the children to John Lennon Airport from the
Liverpool Taxi Club on Sunday morning 18
th

October seen off by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool.
They will then enjoy a flight to Charles De
Gaulle, then a coach trip to the Explorers Hotel
where the magical fun will begin.
Bernie Buxton and the LTDCIC committee are
still appealing for more volunteer drivers on the
day to be at the Taxi Club no later than 07:00
on Sunday 18
th
October to make sure that the
children catch their flight. Also, fund raising is
still ongoing for the Pantomime and next yearʼs
trip to Gulliverʼs World.
The LTDCIC Outing Fund was founded in 1985
by a number of Liverpool Taxi Drivers in order
to meet the needs of local underprivileged
children. Their first efforts involved the LTDCIC
ʻdoing the roundsʼ of fellow cab drivers and
employers as well as local businesses, garages
and members of the public to raise much-
needed funds. They were so successful that
they were able to take a party of children to
see Blackpool Illuminations. Successive trips
were made to Morecambe, Southport, Butlins
at Pwllheli, Camelot numerous pantomimes and
now Euro Disney! Donations:
