After riding a month I felt it was time for Romantico and I generously provided by Lee Locke
to make our public debut. I took him to the Lompoc Valley
Riders All Around Fun Event in Lompoc, CA. Talk about
feeling like fish out of water! Not only was he the only
gaited horse but sidesaddle? The looks we got were hysteri- 2008 Los Amigos Peruvian Paso
cal. Our division consisted of a trail course (that included a
jump) equitation, pole bending and barrel racing. I man- Championship Show
aged to stay on and we won both poles and barrels. I even
took the small jump in the trail class aside. We did well
enough aside that we won our Division High Point Award. Conquistador Magazine
