Remembering Bill English OBE
To find out more about activities in
your region or to get more involved It was with great sadness that we heard of the death of Bill English, OBE
in your regional branch contact: who passed away 17 May, aged 74. Bill, former Director of Finance at
Glasgow City Council, spent more than 43 years serving the people of
Regional support Glasgow in local government. He was a distinguished elder statesman

professional activities. Appreciated for his hard work and ‘his amazing
Channel Islands temperament’, Bill was an inspiration and a role model within the public
Ian Black finance community. He will be missed by many.
