Annual Coastal Classic Celebrity
Golf Tournament Scores Big
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, celebrities and par-
ticipants, the NHRMC Foundation hosted the 17th Annual Coastal
Classic Celebrity Golf Tournament at the Country Club of Landfall.
First Citizens Bank was again the presenting sponsor. The tourna-
ment raised $70,000 for the hospital and surpassed its fundrais-
ing goal by $20,000. According to the tournament vice chair Jeff
Sweyer, “This tournament has become a tradition that many look
forward to all year. It is a great event that people really enjoy and
it helps a very worthy cause.” Over the years, the tournament has
raised more than $2 million to support patient care programs, ser-
vices and equipment at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
This year’s proceeds will be used to purchase and install a wire-
less communications network for patients and families at Cape
Fear Hospital. The 2010 Tournament is set for April 30th and May
1st. Mark your calendars and plan to attend.
