to my boss secured a company van and trailer.
Friday 6th March 10.30 hrs saw not only me but
my wife departing Portsmouth for Lincoln. We ar-
rived back home at 21.00 hrs Friday night. I had
bought a vehicle that did not have a battery and
consequently had not verified that it even ran.
Brakes were seized on etc etc. Bargain Price of
£495.00 and approximately £150.00 diesel fuel
paid by my company.
The most important thing to me was she was
sound with no attempt to hide anything, what you
saw is what you’re going to get.
Saturday saw her pressure washed T Cutted and
waxed. What a difference. On Sunday a battery
was connected and breathed life in the Landy.
After all the usual checks she fired into life (OH
SUCH SWEET JOY) The next 10 weeks or so saw
swivels, exhaust, brakes, brake pipes etc etc re-
placed. On May 5th this year she passed her MOT
at the first attempt. Not only to my delight but more
importantly to she who must be obeyed. She ab-
solutely adores her and has nicknamed her the
Lincoln Lass.
I am not a purist and have no intention of her being
a concourse model. I do take her greenlaning but
am aware that she is 26 years old. However she
has been modified and added to in the past weeks
as the photos will confirm. My next project is to fit parabolics all round. As a friend of mine said a Land
Rover is an adult activity centre. An inspiration to me has been Nicks Land Rover.
I would like to pass on my sincere thanks to members of the UKLR
forum for all their help when at times I am left scratching my head. They
have never failed yet.
Am I happy with my
Landy? A very big yes.
