Lincoln Lass
When I met my wife to be in March 1982 I owned a straight 6 109 lwb Land Rover on what if my memory
serves me correctly was on an E plate. During August of that year I sold it to take Corrina on holiday to
Spain. My future father in law suggested I kept the Land Rover and got rid of Corrina.
27 years on, with both boys grown up and left home, I decided it was time to look for a Series 111. After
many months of searching I kept on coming back to a free ad for a Series 111. This did not give much
information and had been glossed over many times due to a lack of photograph.
My wife’s opinion was why do you want one of those
again (BECAUSE I DO) and was dead set against
it. However she looked at this advert again and sug-
gested that I ring and ask for photos. (I think she
was humouring me) So on Tuesday 3rd March 2009
a phone call was made. I was told that she had not
run since June 2005, was laid up in a barn, but was
in generally good condition. (Heard that before)
Paul said he would send me some photos at the
weekend as it was to dark to get out beforehand.
On Thursday 5th low and behold photographs ar-
rived by email. She was a 1983 2.25 petrol 88 with
47000 genuine miles on the clock. To say it was love
at first site would be an understatement. A quick call
