Walker whisky plant at Kilmarnock with the loss of 700 jobs and WKDWKDVDEVROXWHO\QRVFUXSOHVDQGQRLQWHUHVWLQ6FRWODQG·V
the Port Dundass plant in Glasgow with the loss of 170 jobs. KHULWDJH6FRWODQG·VLQGXVWU\RUHYHQWKHLURZQ6FRWWLVKZRUNIRUFH
This decision also has a knock-on affect with businesses that It is obvious they have nothing but contempt for us. The Scottish
VXSSO\JRRGVVHUYLFHVDQGWUDQVSRUWWRWKLVÀUP parliament must stop this industrial sabotage and come to the
aid of its people. It is imperative that we keep Johnny Walker in
Finance secretary Mr. John Swinney welcomed the new jobs Kilmarnock and save the bond at Port Dundas in Glasgow. Can
Diageo were creating at Leven and said that it was “encouraging”
that Diageo were committed to Scotland. I would like to ask Mr.
Swinney if this is the same Diageo that have been bringing over

of their trainers back to India with them and leave the trainers
redundant?
I am no politician nor am I a football supporter but it seems to me
that although a company can spend millions of pounds buying a

club will always belong to the supporters of that club. Supporters

football club in the country would die.

This is how absurd I see this situation. If the Scottish parliament

botch up the rescue of any one of these two plants then we have
P\KHDGURXQGWKHIDFWWKDWDFRPSDQ\LQWKLVHFRQRPLFFOLPDWH
lost a part of our heritage and I for one would like to see the
S\UDPLGVQRWMXVWEXLOWLQ(GLQEXUJKEXWLQ+ROO\URRGULJKWRQ
top of the Scottish parliament building. At least we would have

would surely be upon us then.
