Leaving the muted colors of fall ’07 behind, this season will be
remembered for its bevy of bright colors, the brighter the better at Zac
Posen, Celine, Tuleh, and DSquared.

In a sea of bright, bold colors, let's not forget the subtle power of black
and white. Armani and Gucci decided to integrate black and white in their
accessories, while others chose to interpret the trend using polka dots
and stripes. No matter how it materialized, these graphic opposites have
definitely left their mark.

Swimwear is always a must-have for the summer season. Beautiful
one-piece options are available from Chanel, Celine, Stella McCartney,
and Maison Martin Margiela, to name just a few.

The bohemian look has made a resurgence but is more soft and
subdued than it was a few years back. Missoni chose large prints, while
Hermès showed embroidered and embellished suedes. Cavalli and
Balmain chose to show flowy fringes that were modern yet gave a subtle
nod to the ’60s.

Flats are also a mainstay for summer. The gladiator sandal showed up
on the runways of D&G and 3.1 Phillip Lim and is decidedly the new foot-
friendly shoe of the season.
