God’s
redemptive plan
Jesus knows everything about our pains because of Calvary; look at the pain of Jesus being
rejected by His Father and being despised by those He came to save.
Look at the way His body was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities. See Him
made sorrowful with our sorrows. See Him chastised so that we would have peace and fl ogged so that we
would be healed. See Him judged and found guilty so that we could be declared innocent; cut off so that
we could be brought in to His family, stricken and smitten of God and affl icted so that we would never be
punished for our sins. See Him put to grief so that God would see the travail of His soul and be satisfi ed
because Christ, our High Priest, bore our sins and iniquities.
Isaiah 53 probably paints a clearer picture of God’s redemptive plan than any other scripture; it shows
how Christ walked in our world, saw the need of a sacrifi ce and offered Himself, the spotless Lamb of
God.
Christ knows your pain intimately. He carried it Himself so that you wouldn’t have to. He carried your
sicknesses and every weak moment so that you could live in divine health (Matthew 8:17).
If He was God’s choice as a sacrifi cial lamb to be led to the slaughter, what on earth can we offer
in His place?
