Carnival time!
BY JOHN EDDEN
THE annual Sutton
Carnival took place last
weekend and attracted
thousands of visitors.
Amongst many of the interesting
stalls and PA systems that people
could take advantage of, loyal com-
patriots the John Taylor Hospice
had one of the largest community
stalls on display.
Ray Woods, marketing and
fundraising officer for the League
of Friends, said: “We have been
coming here for three to four years
and the organising committee do a
superb job - despite the vagaries of
the British weather! Each year it
gets bigger and better!
“Our aim in coming here is not
just to raise money, but to raise
awareness of the Hospice and the
services that it provides to the peo-
ple of Sutton and elsewhere - so
that if families need help, they
know where to go.”
The John Taylor Hospice helps
adults with life threatening ill-
nesses and their families in Great
Barr, Sutton Coldfield and the
HAVING A BALL: Hospice
north of the city - a population of
supporters from Sutton and
over 400,000 people. It has a day
Erdington kick off their fund-raising
hospice, an inpatient unit and com-
efforts at the carnival!
munity based nursing and
bereavement support teams.
