Glasgow mum and Dragon’s
Den veteran Eona Craig.
That’s why she invented The
Articulate Gallery – and even
sold a couple to Dragons
Duncan Bannatyne and Peter
Jones!
Admit it, there’s nothing more precious
than those fantastic paintings and
drawings that your kids do and present
you with, all full of pride at their
achievements. It then seems somehow
inappropriate to just stick them onto the
door of the fridge with a magnet.
If that sentiment resonates with you,
then you’re not alone as it was for that
very reason that Glasgow mum Eona
Craig decided to do something about it
and invent bespoke frames that she
could use to rotate her son’s artwork.
Not happy with simply coming up
with a nice idea, Eona and her husband
Colin Gilchrist then decided to brave
the Dragon’s Den in October last year,
and while they didn’t manage to sell the
idea to the Dragons, they did manage
to sell a frame to both Duncan
Bannatyne and Peter Jones, both
Dragons and both fathers – the perfect
endorsement!
Eona explains: “These really simple
frames came about as a result of my
frustration with ‘fridge door’ art. Simply
sticking the mini masterpieces created
my then two year old son onto kitchen
appliances seemed inappropriate.
Instead, I invented the frame and now
hope that others will benefit from cleaners
celebrating their children’s creativity in a or whatever
way that is fun as well as functional.” your little artist
