the Perfect Patio
Eagle’s restaurants open their patios to patrons who want to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
From DaVincis to Smoky Mountain Pizza to River Rock Alehouse, patios all over Eagle are
open for the summer season. Here are a few of our favorites:
Best River View: Bella Aquila
Bella Aquila 775 Rivershore Ln 208.938.1900
With its waterfalls and prime view of the Boise River, Bella Aquila may well have the best
patio in the entire Treasure Valley. Owner Ellen Cooper says the lovely view was the most
compelling reason to locate the affordable white-cloth dining establishment there. “It’s
the perfect place to enjoy a peaceful meal,” she says.
Best place to watch people: Rachel k’s and Rembrandts
Rembrandts 93 S. Eagle Rd 208.938.1564
Anyone who has done the “Rembrandts shuffle” knows that the downtown landmark’s
spacious patio, is one of the best places to see and be seen in Eagle. The local coffeehouse
and “office away from the office” for most of Eagle serves specialty coffee drinks, sandwich-
es, and scrumptious salads, as well as breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday. Rembrandts
offers live jazz on Thursday nights, as well as numerous family activities.
Rachel K’s Bistro 83 E. State St 208.939.5677
Rachel K’s Bistro (formerly Wild West) offers a newly renovated patio with ample shade
and a prime view of State Street. The perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine or one of chef
Rachel Knickrehm’s savory tapas style dishes. On a recent visit I enjoyed quinoa perfectly
prepared with lemon, fresh herbs, and olive oil, topped with grilled shrimp. Another favor-
ite is the cheese plate, or the delicious and affordable hummus platter. Rachel K’s features
live music on the patio on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Best patio Cocktails: Willowcreek grill and Bardenay
Willowcreek Grill 1065 Old State St. 208.938.3010
Newly opened Willowcreek Grill offers delicious food and a full bar in a tranquil setting.
The Grill’s colorful umbrellas provide plenty of shade in the hotter summer months.
Tiki torches, a waterfall, and a nearby stream enhance the outdoor experience. Willow-
creek has a full bar, and wines by the glass. Eagle residents Greg and Rebecca Standefer
love the ambience. “The price point is perfect. It’s exactly what Eagle needs,” says Rebecca.
“It’s just a classic place to be.”
Bardneay 155 E. Riverside Dr. 208.938.5093
And of course, there’s Bardenay. With its riverfront patio and full bar, it’s a popular place to
meet up with friends after work, and a safe place to take a second date.
Most Spacious patios: Cool hand luke’s and Seasons Bistro
Cool Hand Luke’s 291 E. Shore Dr. 208.939.5853
The steakhouse in the Rivershores commercial development has one of the largest, most
comfortable patios in Eagle, overlooking a tranquil pond. A fire pit provides a casual place
to relax with a drink. The restaurant features a full bar.
Seasons Bistro 117 E. Winding Creek 208.939.6680
Seasons Bistro is a great place to enjoy an outdoor lunch or dinner with friends. Gracious
owner Rachel Hurn, one of the Idaho Business Review’s Women of the Year, is always ready
to recommend a glass of wine to accompany chef Eric Peterson’s scrumptious Cajun influ-
enced creations. Seasons features live music on the patio during the summer.
