to take part in, and as you would imagine, it links directly
to nature. You can enjoy kayaking, fi shing, heli-hiking (they
drop you on the mountain you have to walk back!) You can
enjoy fl ight seeing and guided hikes into the Kachemak Bay

fi n d a better place, majestic scenery, miles of beaches, and
secluded salt water coves right out the front door make it
impossible for you not to unwind! Or indulge your senses
watching for whales, porpoises, sea otters, and seals from
the decks that surround the lodge. This eco system is quite
unlike any other. Enjoy the sounds and the smells of this rich
marine environment.
The area is simply stunning and the lodge is designed to
work with the surrounding beauty, not against it. The lodge
is a wonderful example of how an eco lodge should operate.
They employ local people, use local businesses and grow
as much of their own vegetables as possible and for the
extras they support the local natural farm stores and farmers
markets.
The lodge was designed specifi cally with the idea of
conservation; all equipment is modern and energy effi cient,
with special attention on water. All cleaning products are
eco friendly to protect the surrounding environment. Trees
and shrubs have been lovingly relocated during the build,
not discarded, something many large corporate companies
could learn from.
