arena... hmmm I think the spaghetti junction foxed a few as
it seemed awfully quiet to start with. However, as time rolled
R Q S H R S O H V W D U W H G W R D S S H D U D Q G V R V W D U W H G W K H Á X F W X D W L Q J
hustle and bustle! This show, as usual was located in
W K H F H Q W U H R I % U L W D L Q Z H O O & R Y H Q W U \ W R E H S U H F L V H V H Q W W R
Coventry - steady now!), at the Ricoh arena the home of the
Coventry City football club... oh and LTI the maker of the
% 5 , 7 , 6 + 7 U D G L W L R Q D O 7 D [ L
: D V L W P H R U Z D V L W W K D W W K H H [ K L E L W L R Q Á R R U V S D F H Z D V P X F K
smaller and compact than previous years, which made it
feel that much busier? Most of the usual suspects, vehicle
and service providers in the taxi and PH trade were there:
the giants of Mercedes, Cab Direct and Patons Taxi World
along with the smaller services promoting their products.
LTI was missing from the show this year, I hope they are not
feeling complacent in the taxi market, as the arrangement of
vehicles on show was impressive and drumming up a lot of
D W W H Q W L R Q H V S H F L D O O \ W K H & D E ' L U H F W · V ( D Q G 2 Q H · V 0 H U F
As myself and William (from taxi talk) made our way round
the hall - joining in with the banter - I happily snapped away
with my trusty camera (thanks David!) happy faces all round
made the day a lot easier.
UGO had their usual happy crew (luvly ladies) and Insure
Taxi insisted we took photos of their good-looking girl sales

available to pose with his TW 200 and seemed cheerful
and pleased with the activity on their stand, which was the
largest at the show. Westminster Insurance looked very
busy on their laptops drawing up new quotes for the taxi
drivers. The sense of gloom from the walls all around the
hall being heavily draped in black, could this have been in
honor of the missing LTI stand?
There was the spectacular stand of the Tawe Coachbuilders

wrong by about £40,000 price tag. I let them get on with their
dispute and trotted over to CabCard services; they were

over the moon with the popularity of CabCard, along with the
ongoing interest and enthusiasm from taxi drivers across the

based in the Isle of Man and by all accounts glad to be joining
the numerous exhibitors at Coventry. Choice Quote promised

It was a good day, but in all honesty the number of visitors,
in my opinion, seemed less than previous years. Perhaps
the economic downturn had something to do with it?
