using traditional mortise and tenon construction
methods which reduce the need for internal, load
bearing walls, creating a larger internal space.
Alternatively, if you favour the glass approach to
your pool house there are numerous off-the-peg
glazed buildings which make the best use of
modern technology. If you are looking for the
crème de la crème, you could talk to Marston and

Your pool house offers you the chance to have
your very own mini leisure centre which your
house might not be big enough to accommodate.
Installing a hot tub, sauna or some gym equipment
need not be as expensive as it sounds and means
you will get good use of your pool house
throughout the year.
Saunas are excellent for detoxifying and weight
loss and are also good for reducing pain and
inflammation from muscle tension. Regular saunas
can also improve skin texture and circulation so
they are an ideal “fitness partner” to your
swimming pool.
Some saunas, like the small, infrared Delphin
from Domo (www.paramount-pools.co.uk) require
nothing more complicated in terms of installation
than a standard 13amp power socket. The
complete kit will cost you around £2,800 including
delivery which, when you consider the fun and
benefits of having your own sauna, seems a pretty
good investment.
A hot tub would be another good addition to
your pool house – although you would need to
consider a de-humidifier and ventilation system.
