Renowned for its exquisite beauty, culture, and entertainment offerings, Long
Island is also recognized as a destination for world-class spa treatments. Many af-
fl uent visitors come for these therapeutic remedies, while we can enjoy them right
here at home. Delightfully delicious, and almost devilishly indulgent, the many treat-
ments available will astound you. Whether or not you are vacationing this summer,
it would behoove you to try out some of these “treats”, as many fabulous spas are
offering discounts and packages to help entice customers who may be holding their
pocketbooks a little tighter during this economy. A massage, facial, or refl exology
treatment may be just what you need! With the discounts available, it could feel
like a few little getaways throughout your summer! The soothing effect lasts with
you for days, as you’ll glow with rejuvenation. So why not allow yourself a splurge
here and there, especially if you aren’t planning a big vacation anyway? As I toured
and visited three outstanding spas on Long Island’s beautiful North Shore, I was
reminded of a fabulous spa vacation I took in San Diego at the La Costa Spa and
Resort, probably one of the top ten in the world. The Spas I visited right here were
just as rejuvenating and relaxing, with the most up to date treatments available. You
can enjoy private lockers, showers, saunas, comfy robes and slippers- all along with
the refreshing remedies you’ll receive.
At the T. Carlton Spalon in Smithtown you’ll be whisked away to an inner sanctum
as you head past rock waterfalls into their downstairs lair of luxury! The feeling of

and peeks about in delicate hues. Drenched in semi-darkness, lights twinkle and soft
music brings you to this place of unwind, sitting on cushy couches and sipping lemon
water until your appointment. Your senses are wistfully awakened by the sound of
trickling water as yet another masterfully placed rock waterfall wall brings about even
more of the still tranquility we are all yearning for. Warm and welcoming, the staff
helped me to feel calm and at ease! Entering the massage room, I am actually feeling
