The popular California Classic Pro-Am returns to the Palm Springs Desert Resorts for the 16th
consecutive year with a great new host hotel, the five star Hyatt Grand Champions Resort & Spa
and a stunning line up of courses. The Welcome Challenge will be held at Mission Hills Country
Club’s superb Dinah Shore Tournament Course and the 72-hole Pro-Am will include The Classic
Club, Indian Wells Celebrity Course, PGA West Nicklaus Tournament Course, and Desert Willow
Mountain View Course.
In addition to the Pro-Am, there is an optional Ryder Cup style (fourball) match held mid-week
against the members of the exclusive Indian Wells Country Club.
Located 150 miles east of Los Angeles International Airport, the Palm Springs Desert Resorts offer a superb winter climate for
golf with average maximum daily temperatures in early December of around 75°f (24°c).

THE GOLF COURSES
Mission Hills Country Club Dinah Shore Course was designed by Desmond Muirhead, and plays host
to the LPGA’s Kraft Nabisco Championship. The course features a traditional layout amongst mature trees, and
finishes with the famous par 5 18th signature hole with its island green in front of the clubhouse.
The Classic Club opened to rave reviews in January 2006 as the new host course of the Bob Hope Chrysler
Classic. This superb Arnold Palmer designed course features rolling terrain, several elevated tees, numerous
pine, olive and pepperwood trees, attractive flowering bushes, shrubs and pine straw ground cover. Always
maintained to a very high standard, this popular and challenging course also provides players with great views
of the surrounding mountains, and offers an exceptional golf experience.
PGA West Nicklaus Tournament Course provides a
very enjoyable test of golf. Known for its contoured fairways

which slope into deep rough, it also features undulating greens
surrounded by well-positioned bunkers and grassy knolls. The Nicklaus Tournament Course is always highly
rated by our customers and co-hosts the PGA Tour’s final qualifying school every two years.
Desert Willow Mountain View Course is always a very
popular course and a true test of skill, where golfers must
negotiate their way around extensive manicured desert flora
areas, numerous water features, and more than one hundred
bunkers and waste areas.
PGA West Nicklaus Tournament Course
Indian Wells Golf Resort Celebrity Course, completely
renovated and redesigned by Clive Clark, opened in November 2006 to rave reviews. In addition to spectacular
mountain views, the Celebrity Course features undulating fairways, and flowing water in the form of streams,
brooks, and split-level lakes connected by striking waterfalls and vibrant floral detail. From start to finish, the
new Celebrity Course offers an unmatched golf experience that will have players returning again and again.
