The Ghosts of Versailles
The ghost of the not-so-past. First performed in the New York Met in
December 1991, bringing
the French Revolution
and the theatrical world
of Beaumarchais’ Figaro,
together in an award-
winning opera by Oscar-
winning composer John
Corigliano.
A co-production with
the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, this European première, in the modern,
purpose-built Wexford Opera House, performed in a newly revised version,
brings this amazing modern piece, more to the ghost of Opera future.
