Things That You May Not Know About Hythe...
Venetian Fete 2009
Carnival is coming to Hythe on Wednesday
19th August 2009 as our town once again
puts on the spectacle that is the Venetian
Fete. The Royal Military Canal will be
festooned with lights and music will play as
an array of decorative floats sail magically
along.
The event began in 1869 and since 1954 has
been held biannually on the third Wednesday
of August. Organised by a committee of
unpaid volunteers that make up the Hythe
Venetian Fete Society, the fete attracts
thousands of visitors from far and wide and is
truly a beautiful and unique sight. A total of
