Barrels & Bottles have been long established as part of the Wine Schoppen Group, a wine shipper and merchant founded in
1979.
As a family business, run by second generation Andrew and Janet Coghlan, we specialise in importing small estate wines
from unique growers from all over the world. Selection is made by a panel of tasters with over 50 years experience in the trade,
ensuring that every single wine is offered based on quality and value, not just on price.
Barrels & Bottles is a diverse business combining wine sales with its own cookery school, packaging division and corporate
gift department.
Our wooden boxes are produced using FSC approved timber and are supplied to some of the UK and Ireland's blue chip
companies, both in bespoke designs and fully printed styles.
Wine tasting evenings have long been popular with guests in the Sheffield and Chesterfield area with visiting vintners often
popping over to host evening events. This year will see vintners arriving from New Zealand, Australia, France and Italy as
well as regular contributors from Germany and Spain.
We continue to be at the forefront of new innovation and Barrles & Bottles have again been crowned most Innovative drinks
company in the UK for the 2nd year running. 2008 award was for food and wine combination and the investment in a brand
new cookery school concept, whilst the 2009 award was picked up for RackPac our wine postal system.
