TV presenter Nicky Hambleton-Jones, I
survey my outfit with concern. Is my waist
“cinched”? Is my hair looking sleek? No to both.
For five years, Nicky was the face of Channel 4’s
10 Years Younger, the successful show which
attempts to take years off its participants by
carrying out intensemakeovers.
Lookingasslick, shiny and immaculateasIhad
envisaged, Nickyiswearing perfectlyfitted dark
jeans accompanied by aruffled orange
blouse and awaistcoat. Not awisp of hair out
of place, she is aliving exampleofthe show
which shot her to fame –lookingadecade
younger than her 38 years.
Nickyiswell knownfor her love of belts
–the larger the better. So Iamsurprised
to see the pristine, fresh-faced Nicky
turn up beltless (contradicting herlater
advice to “never go out without
abelt”).
Late last year, Nicky’s sudden
departure from the show caused
much mediaspeculation after she
was seemingly shunned for Mylene
Klass, ironically almost 10
years younger than her
predecessor.
But, contrary to
popular belief,
it was Nicky
who chose
