Dunblane BC were on cloud nine after lifting
three of the six Central Association
Championship titles on offer at Cambusbarron.
Playing in the sunshine and in front of a huge
crowd, Steven Eddie’s 21-15 victory over Manny
Cruz, of Doune Castle in the singles was added to
by the senior fours and the triples.
In the pairs, brothers Mark and Iain Bone from
Polmaise had to wait till an extra end before
seeing off Alva’s Jim Ferguson and Eugene
Greasley, 18-16.
The Junior singles saw Blair McMillan, of
Tillicoultry beat Michael Airnes from Denny 21-17,
while Dunblane’s triple of Wallace Clarke, Sandy
Provan and David Cuthell had a 15-12 victory
over Cambusbarron’s David Ferguson, David
Ferguson Jnr and Stephen Whitton. Dunblane’s third success of the evening came in
Bridge of Allan’s fours winners, Brian Cockburn, the senior fours with George Storrar, Gavin Bruce,
Stuart Muir, Robert McGowan and Ian Anderson Alan Davidson and Bill Hardie emerging extra end
edged out John Monte Monteith, Craig Green, winners over Bannockburn’s Jim McDonald,
Barrie Liddell and Jim Liddell, of Cambusbarron, Robert Scott, Hugh Milne and Dick Kennedy.
18-10. The final result was 14-13.
