South Lanarkshire present
disabled talent with awards
South Lanarkshire Disability Sports 3rd
Sports Personality of the Year Awards dinner
was held at Larkhall Leisure Centre on
Thursday, May 14th.
The organisations chairman Ian Dunn welcomed
guests, sportsmen and woman and
congratulated them on their success in sport
during the year.
Mr Gerry Campbell, South Lanarkshire
Leisures General Manager gave the
presentation on the annual disability
sport school held at the National Sports
Training Centre in Inverclyde, Largs,
including over 100 young people with
a disability.
In addition to reporting on a variety
of projects over the season, in
partnership with South Lanarkshire
Sport, Provost Russell Clearie gave
greetings from South Lanarkshire
council.
Miller Stoddart, SLDS Secretary,
compered the awards ceremony and well
known after dinner speaker Robbie Glen
entertained the gathering with his excellent
humour.
A fantastic night was had by all, and sincere
congratulations go to all prize-winners.
