Lets take the Challenge
The Challenge has been around since 2006 now but there are still numerous clubs out there who
don’t know what it is, so theBooler decided it was time to show a few examples of the tasks
involved rather than just tell you about it.
BRONZE AWARD
1. A bowler approaches their/a Club Coach to register an interest in participating in the scheme.
2. The Club Coach forwards an application form (still to be formulated) or letter to the SBCC with prospec-
tive candidates details. Send FAO Robert McGregor c/o Coatbridge I.B.C., Quarry Street, Coatbridge ML5
3PU or can visit the website at
www.scottishbowlscoaching.co.uk where emails will be
forwarded.
3. The club/or individual, through the coach, should enclose a cheque for £3.00 per person per award.
Cheques should be made payable to the Scottish Bowls Coaching Committee.
4. The Coach completing the application must give their address and details for return of the following:
• A record card for completion as each component of the nominated award is successfully undertaken.
• A checklist to ensure correct procedures and protocols.
• A question sheet.
• A compliment slip as receipt of payment.

The Silver and Gold Awards have the same initial pro-
cedures as at the Bronze Award 1, 2, 3 and 4 above
but the assessment process is different.
