very effective.
Ginger decreases nausea, boosts the immune system and
helps lower blood pressure.
Quick & easy herbal remedies
To make a tea, use 2 teaspoons of powdered or grated root
per cup of boiling water. Steep 20 minutes, strain, add juice
from half a lemon and honey to taste. Drink hot, up to 3 to 4
cups per day. If you feel a cold coming on, add some green
onion to the mixture. It works wonders.
Mint relaxes the digestive tract and is used to treat coughs,
colds and fevers.
Peppermint has a sharper taste than spearmint and feels
cooler in the mouth. To make an infusion, use 1 teaspoon of
fresh herb or 2 teaspoons of dried leaves per cup of boiling
water. Steep 10 minutes, strain, and drink 3 to 4 cups a day.
Chamomile is excellent for indigestion and heartburn. It
also soothes the skin and has mild relaxant and sedative prop-
erties.
To make an infusion, use 2 to 3 heaping teaspoons of dried
or 1/3 cup of fresh flowers per cup of boiling water. Steep 10
to 20 minutes. Strain and drink 3 cups per day.
Borage is used to support the adrenals, reduce stress,
reduce fevers, and increase milk supply in nursing mothers.
Make a tea by combining a small handful of fresh leaves
with 2-1/2 cups boiling water. Steep 10 minutes, strain, and
drink warm.
