American R&B and soul singer-songwriter Smokey Robinson performs
July 3 at 8pm at the Soboba Arena in San Jacinto. Affectionately known
as the “King of Motown,” Robinson recorded thirty-seven Top 40 hits for
Motown Records as both a member of The Miracles and then as a solo
artist between 1960 and 1987. As a songwriter, Robinson penned hits
for his own group, as well as numerous other Motown artists including
Mary Wells, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Brenda Holloway, Marvin
Gaye and more. His hit songs have earned him the title, “America’s poet
laureate of love,” accumulating more than 4,000 songs to his credit
during the course of his 50-year career in music. Tickets are FREE. For
