jUST my THOUgHTS

I am so ready for summer! I’ve rotated all my sundresses to the
front of my closet, stocked up on sun block and spray tan and
am chomping at the bit for Big Brother 13 to begin…...As a kid,
I remember counting down the days to summer. And when it
came, finally, it was like one big, long vacation. Swimming in the
pool every day. Taking family trips to Disneyland and Vegas. And
best of all—no homework! When I got a little older, I spent my
summers hanging out with friends at the beach. I remember the
long bus ride I had to take there (before I could drive), filled with
salty surfers and people on their way to work. I’d arrive pretty the lAst suMMer
early in the morning, when the Marine Layer was still thick and Prepare your college-bound teen
the air was cool. First, I'd stop off at Circle K for some mini donuts for that move-away milestone.
Monica Topete, Editor and a Slurpee (the breakfast of champions!) and then wrapping
myself in a blanket, sit on the sand and wait for my friends to
show up. The rest of the day was spent body surfing in the ocean,
flirting with lifeguards and laying out in the warm summer sun
with my toes buried deep beneath the sand. It was the perfect
day.....As we enter the summer season, I hope you take some time
out to have some fun and reconnect with the kid inside of you.
